What I Wouldn’t Do

What I Wouldn’t Do

The nights are long when you’re not here
Lack of your presence darkens my way
Without you life feels so drear
One glimpse of your smile brightens my day
Visage of your face melts away the snow
Hearing your song is the zenith of my existence
A songbird is a flame unto the sun when measured to your voice
You are the one who invades my inner dreams
Pleasant though the intrusion is I awake full of sorrow
I would climb the highest mountain at a chance to come upon you
Swim the ocean at a rumor of your presence
For now I hold you in my heart
Until again you come back to me
